Terms of Service

Effective May 12, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of Clarity Edit, a macOS text workspace developed by Sonoma Enterprises. By downloading, installing, or using Clarity Edit, you agree to these terms and to Apple's applicable App Store terms.

License

Sonoma Enterprises grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Clarity Edit on Macs that you own or control, subject to these terms and Apple's App Store rules.

You may use Clarity Edit for personal, educational, and commercial work. You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or modify the app except where permitted by law.

Your files and responsibility

You retain ownership of the files, notes, drafts, prompts, snippets, data, and code you create or edit with Clarity Edit.

Clarity Edit is designed to work with normal files, but you are responsible for saving, backing up, and verifying important work. Sonoma Enterprises is not responsible for lost files, lost work, corruption, or business interruption.

Clarity Pro

Clarity Pro is a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks advanced features. Purchases, refunds, Family Sharing where available, and billing issues are handled by Apple through the App Store.

Pro features may evolve over time. Core access to your own files, basic opening and saving, copying, plain printing, and restore purchase access are not intended to be held hostage by Pro.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Clarity Edit to violate laws, infringe intellectual property rights, distribute malware, attack systems, or interfere with the app, App Store, or Sonoma Enterprises services.

Privacy

Clarity Edit is local-first and does not use analytics. Feedback is optional and sent only when you choose to submit it. Please review the Privacy Policy for details.

Updates and availability

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features. Updates are distributed through the Mac App Store. Some features may require newer versions of macOS or App Store services.

Disclaimer

Clarity Edit is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sonoma Enterprises will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from your use of Clarity Edit.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Clarity Edit after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
